Terms of Service

By accessing, registering with or using studenton.in, its related applications or services (collectively, the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.

If a user is under 18 years of age, the Platform may be used only with the involvement, supervision and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

The parent or legal guardian will be responsible for the minor’s use of the Platform and compliance with these Terms.

StudentOn is an online marketplace that helps students and parents discover and communicate with home tutors, online tutors and other education service providers.

The Platform is free for students and parents to post tuition requirements and search for tutors.

Tutor registration and profile creation are free. Tutors are charged StudentOn Coins only when they choose to unlock or contact a quality lead or use another clearly identified paid feature.

StudentOn facilitates discovery and communication but does not itself provide tutoring services and is not a party to any tutoring arrangement between users.

StudentOn operates a Coin-based Wallet system for tutors. The value of 1 StudentOn Coin is equal to ₹1.

Tutors may add Coins to their StudentOn Wallet using the payment methods made available on the Platform.

The number of Coins, applicable price and any charges will be displayed before a transaction is completed.

Users are responsible for reviewing the transaction details before confirming a Wallet recharge or lead unlock.

StudentOn may correct a Wallet balance where Coins were added, deducted or displayed incorrectly because of a verified technical or processing error.

A tutor is charged 20 StudentOn Coins, equivalent to ₹20, when the tutor chooses to unlock or contact a quality lead.

The applicable 20 Coins are deducted from the tutor’s StudentOn Wallet when access to the available contact details or communication facility is successfully provided.

The charge is for access to the lead and not for guaranteed conversion, selection, employment or tuition engagement.

StudentOn does not guarantee that a student or parent will respond, arrange a demo, select a tutor, agree to the tutor’s fees or begin classes.

A lead may be visible to or contacted by more than one tutor. Payment of the lead charge does not give a tutor exclusive access to the requirement.

Lead charges are governed by StudentOn’s Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

A refund may be considered where 20 Coins were deducted but a verified technical fault on StudentOn prevented the tutor from receiving access to the lead.

Eligible technical faults may include deduction without unlocking the lead, failure of the contact facility or an accidental duplicate deduction for the same lead.

Once the tutor has successfully received the available contact details or communication access, the lead service is treated as delivered and the 20-Coin charge is non-refundable.

Approved lead-charge refunds will ordinarily be credited to the tutor’s StudentOn Wallet as Coins. A full refund for one eligible lead will normally restore 20 Coins.

A lead charge will not be refunded merely because the student or parent did not respond, selected another tutor, closed the requirement, declined the tutor’s fees or did not begin classes.

Users must provide accurate, complete and current information when creating or updating an account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, OTPs and other account-access information.

You must not allow another person to impersonate you, operate your account deceptively or use your account for unlawful purposes.

You must notify StudentOn promptly at contact@studenton.in if you suspect unauthorised access to or misuse of your account.

StudentOn is not responsible for loss caused by a user’s failure to protect their account credentials, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Tutors must provide truthful and current information about their identity, qualifications, education, experience, subjects, teaching modes, location, fees and availability.

Tutors must not make false claims about qualifications, verification status, results, experience, employment or professional associations.

Tutors must communicate professionally and must not harass, threaten, discriminate against or pressure students or parents.

Tutors must clearly agree on tuition fees, schedules, teaching mode, cancellation terms and payment expectations before classes begin.

Tutors are independently responsible for their services, conduct, legal compliance and applicable taxes. Tutors are not employees, agents or representatives of StudentOn.

Students and parents must provide accurate and genuine information when creating an account or posting a tuition requirement.

Posted requirements should accurately describe the subject, level, teaching mode, location, schedule, budget and other relevant needs.

Students and parents must communicate respectfully and must not post fake requirements, intentionally mislead tutors or misuse tutor contact information.

When a tutor has been found or a requirement is no longer active, the student or parent should promptly close or update the requirement.

Users must independently assess whether a tutor is appropriate before sharing sensitive information, arranging an in-person meeting or making payment.

StudentOn may review documents or information submitted by a tutor and may display a verification indicator where applicable.

Verification indicates only that certain information or documents were reviewed through the process available at that time. It is not an endorsement, employment guarantee or assurance of teaching quality, conduct or suitability.

Users should exercise reasonable caution, verify relevant credentials and use their own judgement before entering into a tutoring arrangement.

For in-person tuition involving a minor, a parent or responsible adult should supervise the initial meeting and make appropriate safety arrangements.

Tuition fees, demo charges, schedules, cancellation conditions and other service terms are agreed directly between the tutor and the student or parent.

StudentOn is not a party to these agreements and does not collect commission from the tuition fee agreed between users.

Users are responsible for maintaining appropriate records of their discussions, fee agreements, payments, schedules and cancellations.

Any dispute regarding tuition quality, attendance, direct payment, cancellation or refund must ordinarily be resolved directly between the tutor and the student or parent.

Reviews, profile information, requirements, messages and other content submitted by users must be truthful, lawful and relevant.

Users must not submit fake reviews, defamatory statements, abusive material, confidential information belonging to others or content that infringes another person’s rights.

StudentOn may review, restrict or remove user content that violates these Terms, applicable law or Platform safety requirements.

You retain ownership of your original content but grant StudentOn a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display it as necessary to operate and promote the Platform.

Users must not publish phone numbers, email addresses or other direct contact details in public-facing profile fields or content for the purpose of bypassing Platform controls.

Creating fake accounts, impersonating another person, submitting false documents, manipulating reviews or posting misleading requirements is prohibited.

Users must not use the Platform for harassment, threats, discrimination, fraud, unlawful activity, spam, unsolicited promotion or advertising competing services.

Users must not upload malware, harmful code, illegal content, sexually explicit content involving minors or material that threatens the safety or rights of another person.

Scraping, crawling, copying, extracting, selling or commercially exploiting Platform data without written permission is prohibited.

Users must not attempt to interfere with Platform security, gain unauthorised access or misuse any referral, Wallet, Coin, refund or promotional programme.

The StudentOn name, logo, visual identity, Platform design, software and original Platform content are owned by or licensed to StudentOn EdTech Private Limited.

Except as expressly permitted, users may not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, license, reverse engineer or create derivative works from Platform materials.

Nothing in these Terms transfers StudentOn’s intellectual-property rights to any user.

StudentOn may add, change, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance or business operations.

We do not guarantee that the Platform will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or available on every device or network.

Temporary outages, maintenance, network failures or third-party service interruptions may affect access to certain features.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of uninterrupted availability or guaranteed results.

StudentOn does not guarantee the identity, conduct, qualifications, teaching quality, reliability, suitability or performance of any user.

StudentOn will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from interactions, agreements or direct transactions between users, to the extent permitted by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudentOn’s total aggregate liability relating to the Platform will not exceed ₹1,000 or the amount paid directly to StudentOn by the affected user during the six months preceding the claim, whichever is higher.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability or statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Users may request account deletion by contacting StudentOn at contact@studenton.in, subject to any record-retention requirements under applicable law.

StudentOn may restrict, suspend or terminate an account where the user violates these Terms, creates a safety risk, engages in fraud or misuse, or where action is required by law.

StudentOn may preserve relevant records where reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security or legal compliance.

StudentOn may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Platform, pricing, Coin system, legal requirements or business operations.

Updated Terms will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Where appropriate, additional notice may be provided through the Platform or registered contact details.

Continued use of the Platform after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those updated Terms.
